Web content writing may seem simple but it requires
special skills. It is written for the quick scanning viewers. Unlike
text in a book, the web content is constantly competing with other
open windows as well as other listings in a search engine results
page. The visitors to your website do not have the time or commitment
to finish reading what is given on your page. Their attention span
is limited and they will very soon go away from your site. Thus,
web content has to be essentially written with this audience in
mind – it should be a combination of images and blocks of
text. Each block of text should be preceded by a caption so that
the surfer can quickly glance through the contents of the page and
read in detail what interests or is of relevance to him.
